Drawing the Invisible

見えないものを描く

An unplugged media-art workshop that treats drawing as a tool for research — a way to think through perception, sensation and invisible processes, rather than to represent visible things.

Concept

The workshop starts not from visible objects, but from immaterial elements, like emotions, atmospheres, relationships, time and movement.

Designed as a sequence of four exercises, each one expands the field of what can be made visible: from emotional and interior states, through bodily sensations, into spatial and temporal perception, and finally toward relational, process-based forms of perception. Using only paper and pencil, participants translate feeling, sound, warmth, movement, distance and creative time into abstract marks, rhythms, densities and spatial compositions.

The theoretical basis lies in the idea that drawing can operate as a form of inquiry. From immaterial phenomena, participants develop a personal visual grammar capable of translating what is usually unstable or invisible into form. The work sits between abstract drawing, process-based art and media-art research.

Workshops
  1. 01Feelings through line — interior states translated into gesture and mark.
  2. 02Sound & heat as field — sensory input in the room turned into abstract density.
  3. 03Route as spatiotemporal map — the walk to the main street as space and time, not a literal map.
  4. 04Gravity & creative rhythm — the pull between people, or one's own workflow, as visual structure.
