Oltre la curva
A creative coding workshop that turns a curved surface into an interactive field.

Beyond the Flat Surface was a creative coding workshop developed with students at Liceo Artistico di Anagni through a PON programme supported by European funds. The project began with a simple spatial question: what happens when a surface is no longer understood as a neutral, flat support?
Students designed and constructed a curved wooden structure, treating its geometry as an active condition rather than a backdrop for an image. Through creative coding and projection, the surface became a responsive visual field: light, motion and digital forms were shaped by its folds, depth and continuity.
The workshop connected material construction with computational thinking. Rather than beginning from a screen, participants worked from the physical constraints of a built object, learning to develop an interactive system in dialogue with space. The final installation made the surface itself visible as an interface: a place where form, projection and interaction continuously affect one another.
